Royal icing is the perfect Go-To recipe for decorating cookies! It hardens when it dries, so keeps your designs looking beautiful! Great to use on sugar cookies or gingerbread cookies.
Royal Icing Recipe:
-5 tablespoons of meringue powder
-3/4 cup warm water
-1 teaspoon cream of tartar
-1/2 teaspoon almond extract
-1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
-2.25lbs. powder sugar
Stir meringue powder and water in a mixing bowl. Stir in cream of tartar and extracts. Add in powder sugar (2 cups at a time), beat on your lowest speed for 8-10 minutes. Store in a tight sealed container, best used within a week. Enjoy!
