Apple Pie

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and I had to share with you all this delicious Apple Pie! #ad The recipe has been passed down for 5 generations on my husband’s side. It’s so delicious and so EASY to make! I got all my ingredients from @mysmithsgrocery, I’m always so impressed by the quality of their produce. The Apples in this pie tasted 🙌 Amazing!! I’m pretty sure I live at Smith’s – they always have the best deals (like my favorite butter is half off right now, so I stocked up for the holidays). Anyways, I hope you all enjoy this recipe like my whole family does. XOXO! 🍏Apple Pie Recipe!!

Crust:
2 cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup softened butter
6 T. Water

Directions:
In a medium bowl, add flour and salt and stir together. With a pastry cutter, cut the butter into the flour and salt mixture, add water and mix by hand until dough is formed. Roll out to desired thickness (double the recipe if you will be adding cut out shapes to the pie)…

Pie Filling:
8 medium golden delicious apples, thinly sliced and peeled
3/4 cup sugar
2 1/2 T. Flour
1 tsp. Ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. Salt
1 T. Lemon juice
half and half
turbinado sugar

Directions:
1. In a large bowl, add apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt and lemon juice. Stir until all mixed together.
2. Put rolled out dough into a deep dish pie pan.
3. Pour in Apple mixture.
4. Top with more dough.
5. Use half and half to wash the top of pie crust, sprinkle turbinado sugar on top of crust.
6. Bake at 425 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes. Cover the edges after being in the oven for 20 minutes. Enjoy!! #sponsored #Smithsfoodie @mysmithsgrocery
