Things To Eat And Do In Kauai Hawaii

Hey Everyone!

So you all know I went to Kauai back in September. And I am finally getting around to posting about it.. I know I know! It’s months later, but… I thought I would still share some of my favorite things that I did there.

First, I have to talk about these delicious shave ice! Before I left to Kauai, I kept hearing that we have to get some shave ice when we are there. Sooo.. I did my research online and a lot of the reviews talked about a place called Wishing Well Hanalei (which was only 10 minutes away from where we were staying). So we drove down there to try, and it did not disappoint! 5 of us got the shave ice and 1 got the Acai bowl. I never tried the Acai bowl, but it did look delicious!!

My husband and I love to hike! Honestly I think I love it a little bit more than him and he’s a big outdoors man! We did a lot of exploring in Kauai, but my favorite part of the whole trip was doing an 8 mile round trip hike to Hanakapiai Falls. It was absolutely breathtaking! It was a bit of a hard hike, but it was definitely worth it.21231841_10155068244351478_8832881723064023583_n

We started hiking a bit later in the day, and I was kind of scared we were going to be hiking back in the night time, but I was determined to make it to the waterfall. About a mile before the waterfall, we passed a couple that told us they were the last ones up at the waterfall and wondered if we knew that it was going to be dark soon. They were a bit worried for us, but in my mind I thought we could just run back, ha! I was already enjoying the hike with the hubby and didn’t want it to end, even though I hate the dark. I am a cheeseball sometimes!

The sun set faster than we’d planned, so we ended up hiking in the dark. It was pitch black for the last two miles. We had our cellphone “flashlights” guide us back to our car and almost every 5 feet there were massive frogs that we had to keep dodging so we didn’t step on them. This hike was my FAVORITE part of the whole trip! What an adventure!

Another place we visited was Queens Bath, which was also awesome! It’s a tide pool that’s big enough to actually swim in! Though we didn’t get snap any pictures of the actual Queen’s Bath, we were able to take in the sunset from some cool looking rocks nearby. It was amazing and such an incredbile view!

I also loved going to Waimea Canyon State Park! It reminded me a little bit of home, which I loved!

I just love the outdoors! This world is just beautiful!!

Anyways! Those were some of my top things to do in Kauai! If you do go, make sure to stop at all of these fun places!

XOXO, Brooke
